Zen Internet will increase the price of its broadband deals on July 1st 2015, it has been revealed.
Speaking to ISPreview.co.uk, a spokesperson for the broadband provider explained that the move was regrettable but unavoidable.
"For many years Zen has avoided imposing industry-wide price rises on its customers, brought about by a surge in demand for high-speed, high-usage connectivity in the home and office," the representative stated.
"However, the cost of delivering our services to a standard that supports our highly-connected world - particularly in harder to reach areas with limited infrastructure - is continuing to rise."
The spokesperson said that, in some cases, it costs more than double the amount Zen charges its customers for their broadband packages.
And as such, the operator has reached a point when it must "reluctantly" alter its rates to reflect the growing overheads associated with installing and distributing broadband.
Zen is writing to every affected customer to inform them of the changes.
The spokesperson said the firm will endeavour to inform subscribers of the changes as soon as possible.
"A specialist team will be on hand to discuss alternative broadband packages - including eligibility for a transition to fibre broadband - as well as offering support and advice on the new monthly prices," the rep added.
