EE news

EE has once again topped the charts for mobile broadband speeds in London, comfortably outpacing other service providers.

The new RootMetrics study of performance for both 3G and 4G in the UK capital reveals EE has a median download speed of 25.4Mbps and uploads of 19.3Mbps, which easily places it ahead of Vodafone (10.6Mbps downloads and 6.9Mbps uploads).

Further back were O2 (8.7Mbps downloads and 6.2Mb uploads) and Three (7Mbps downloads and 2.9Mbps uploads), after RootMetrics carried out almost 100,000 independent tests throughout April.

The testing also involved rating each operator for performance in categories such as network reliability and call and text performance, with EE again coming out top in every category, and scoring particularly highly for network reliability (96.1%).

When factors other than download and upload speeds were taken into account, Three rose to second place in the table overall, edging out Vodafone.
