Sky TV customers can pre-order the latest installment of the Star Wars movie franchise, The Force Awakens.

The seventh film of the series was one of the most anticipated movies of all time when it finally arrived in cinemas this week, and Sky is giving customers the chance to own it already.

The Force Awakens picks up the story 30 years after events in 1983's Return of the Jedi, with powers once again about to clash in the galaxy.

Sky customers can pre-order the film through Sky Store on their Sky+HD box, where they will receive instant access to the trailer and be in line to buy and keep the full movie upon its DVD release, which has not yet been announced.

When it does eventually make its DVD debut, customers that have signed up for pre-order will have the film automatically downloaded to their planner and a physical disc copy sent in the post.
