Gigaclear has hailed recent improvements in its customer service offering, with 90 per cent of calls being answered in 30 seconds.

According to broadband provider, which delivers Gigabit class FTTP broadband in rural locations, this is important as it wants to quadruple its customer base over the next year, reports.

Keith Floodgate, Head of Customer Care at Gigaclear, said he is "delighted" to see that customers are being dealt with so quickly after getting in touch.

"People don’t want to wait in queues," he commented.

"We track abandoned calls and the percentage of calls answered and have very stringent targets which we now routinely meet."

Mr Floodgate said this means customers are getting a much better service and "hopefully" the outcome that they are looking for.

Gigaclear currently manages 60 fibre optic networks in rural areas, with a further 25 being built at the moment.
