TalkTalk Business's wholesale network is to be upgraded to prevent congestion for users.

Some broadband providers use the network to supply residential users, a number of whom have experienced issues with their connection speeds.

However, ISPreview.co.uk reports that the cause of traffic congestion and related packet loss has now been identified.

The issues are apparently down to a limitation with the hardware it uses. As a result, TalkTalk will upgrade the infrastructure by midnight on August 1st.

As a result, consumers who have been affected by sporadic connection issues should see an improvement in their broadband service after this point.

"We need to carry out some essential vendor-recommended maintenance on our DSL Interconnects platform/switch at Telehouse North in order to fix customer slow throughput," TalkTalk said.

AAISP is among the broadband providers to use TalkTalk's wholesale network to have reported slight packet loss in recent months.
