O2 has sealed the rights to another high-end mobile phone, with the news that it will begin offering the Samsung Galaxy from August.
The move, which was announced to Tech Radar, bolsters the mobile network’s portfolio of sought-after mobile phones, which already includes the iPhone 3G S and the forthcoming Palm Pre.
It is not yet known if O2 will be the sole carrier of the Samsung handset in the UK, but the network has confirmed that it will only be available on contract deals.
Specifications of the mobile include a five megapixel camera, 8GB of memory and scope to boost this further by adding a microSD card.
Running on the latest edition of Android, dubbed Cupcake, the Galaxy is also home to a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Samsung mobile phones currently available from Top 10 Mobile Phones include the Samsung Tocco Ultra and the hugely popular Samsung Jet.
O2, which offers an array of deals for pay as you go mobile phones as well contract deals, is also rumoured to be in the running to win exclusivity on the Toshiba TG01.
