The Samsung Corby has been rechristened the Genio Touch and will sell for a budget price of £60.
First unveiled last week and due to go on sale imminently, the new mobile phone is home to a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen and allows users easy access to all the most popular social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
Other features of the touchscreen mobile phone, which will be available on a host of UK networks, include a two megapixel camera and FM radio.
In keeping with the youthful focus of the handset, the Genio Touch will be on offer in a range of bold colour options, such as Festival Orange, Jamaican Yellow and Cupid Pink, and is to be promoted by girl band The Saturdays.
The band said: "We love the fact the Samsung Genio Touch comes in such bright colours! We've all chosen our favourite ones and have found it so easy to upload our status updates and favourite photos to Facebook and Twitter.
"We hope our fans will catch our new single 'Forever is Over' on the FM radio on the phone. The Samsung Genio Touch is just perfect for us!"
Other upcoming mobile phones from Samsung include a slimmed down version of the Android powered Samsung Galaxy and a new Armani-branded handset.
