Android 2.3.4 Samsung Galaxy S update spotted

The latest iteration of Android Gingerbread could soon be landing on the Samsung Galaxy S, the latest leak suggests.

A screenshot of what appears to be a ROM build for Android 2.3.4 reveals that the Korean giant is inching closer to readying the latest firmware update for Samsung Galaxy S handsets.

Although it’s not clear exactly when the update will drop, Samsung Europe has hinted the rollout should begin in Q3. The build itself is dated June 3rd, which suggests it may already be in the testing stage.

Sammy recently updated the Galaxy S to Android 2.3 to bring it up to scratch with its younger cousin, the Nexus S. The latest bump offers support for Google Voice and Video chat as well as an updated version of Google Talk, which offers video calls over 3G, plus numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the update’s release in the coming weeks.
