A new Samsung tablet challenger and a hitherto-unheard device look set to make their debuts at the IFA tech expo next week, reports suggest, as Sammy shrugs off a sales embargo on some of its best-selling products.
Evidence of the company’s plans for the Samsung Mobile Unpacked showcase at the Berlin trade event on September 1st was picked up on in the official teaser app by a keen-eyed The Next Web reader.
Therein, he found mention of a '7.7' edition of the Galaxy Tab – the numbers refer to the slate’s screen dimensions – to join the 10.1 version of the same and something altogether more mysterious dubbed the Samsung Note.
What this might be is anyone’s guess right now. The nomenclature certainly doesn’t suggest a phone to us. However, we wouldn’t rule out the ‘Note’ part of its moniker referring to a tablet with stylus support front and centre a la HTC Flyer.
According to the site, we’re also likely to get our first proper look at the Samsung Wave 3, which will run the firm’s proprietary Bada operating system. But, given how the first two models failed to get much traction outside Sammy’s core domestic market, we don’t expect that’ll get too many of you salivating unduly.
