Three won’t be pushing Android 2.3.4 out to the Samsung Galaxy Ace this week after all, it seems.
Back on September 6th, the carrier announced plans to update the phone from the 2.3.3 version of Android to the performance-optimising newer version some time this week.
However, in response to a Tweet from ever-reliable uSwitch Tech reader Paul Jauncey, Three has confirmed that the OS bump “has been delayed slightly”.
Alas, it hasn’t yet provided a new timeframe or a reason for the go-slow, but did pledge to “let everyone know ASAP on an update”.
Once the tweaked software does arrive, it’s well worth having. As well as fixes for the screen lock and handset freezes problem reported by some users. It also brings with some performance enhancements for a much smoother smartphone experience all round.
HTC Sensation owners on Three can also look forward to some update love, with Android 2.3.4 purportedly due very soon indeed.
