Samsung Galaxy S2 white hits Vodafone

The white edition of Samsung’s Android-powered blockbuster blower the Galaxy S2 has finally landed on Vodafone, bringing a dash of colour to Sammy’s standard any-colour-as-long-as-it’s-black handset policy.

Voda is offering the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-toting S2 for free when customers sign up to a two-year contract at £36 per month. What do you get for that outlay? Well, a rather whopping 900 call minutes per month for starters, plus unlimited texts and 750MB of data per month.

Apart from the white respray, the 8.49mm-thick handset remains unchanged from the, gulp, five million-selling original version. That means that its spec set takes in a 1.2GHz dual core processor to keep everything ticking over smoother than a Yacht Rock jam. And it’s also home to an expansive 4.3-inch touchscreen with the Super AMOLED Plus display tech that’s fast becoming a hallmark of Sammy’s high-end kits.

Elsewhere, the S2 rocks an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera, a secondary 1.3-megapixel snapper for video calls around the front and a Near Field Communications (NFC) chip to enable you to pay for low-ticket goods and services by swiping the handset over a reader.
