O2 has cut the cost of owning the Samsung Galaxy S2 for a limited period, slashing the asking price of the year’s best-selling smartie by over £100.
Until February 2nd, O2 is waiving the upfront free of £104.99 when customers sign up for the Galaxy S2 on a £27 per month contract.
Allowances on this tariff are 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data per month.
The S2, which has just seen off the challenge of the iPhone 4S to top the uSwitch Mobile Tracker for an eight consecutive month, teams a 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display with a 1GHz Exnos dual core processor.
Elsewhere, it’s home to an eight megapixel rear-facing camera, a secondary 1.3 megapixel for video calling, as well as Android 2.3, aka Gingerbread, out of the box.
An update to the up-to-the-minute Ice Cream Sandwich is expected during the next three months, bringing a suite of new features to the S2.
