One of the UK’s leading SIM free phone retailers has apparently confirmed the title of Samsung’s next blockbuster blower, in a tech landscape starved of concrete information about the forthcoming handset.
The as-yet-unconfirmed phone has been very unofficially dubbed the Galaxy S3 in the tech press for months and months now.
And today Expansys appeared to rubber-stamp that mooted moniker with a product listing for said handset displaying the informally bequeathed S3 name beneath it.
There is of course a strong chance that the listing is there solely as a place-holder and that the site has gone with the name purely because it's in common usage around the web. But Expansys has been a pretty reliable source of pricing and availability details about upcoming phones in the past, so you’d be foolish to dismiss the S3 listing out of hand.
News of the S3 comes as speculation over the smartphone’s spec sheet hits fever-pitch.
Features recently mooted to be present and correct take in a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen waterproof coating for the handset’s innards and an Exynos quad-core processor – bringing it up to speed with the HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X in the brawn-battle.
