Samsung has made an update available for the Galaxy S3, purportedly packing some welcome performance enhancements.
Available over the air now from Sammy’s proprietary download solution Kies, the firmware overhaul doesn’t add much to quicken the pulse and really only offers updates for the radios and some stability improvements.
But it’s still worth grabbing, we're saying. If only just in case Sammy knows something about its flagship phone that we don’t.
Right now, however, the upgrade is solely for unlocked handsets. So if you bought your S3 on a monthly contract – that’s most of you, right? – you’re going to have to wait until your carrier clears it.
Seemingly well on course to usurp the 20 million-selling Galaxy S2 as Samsung’s most popular phone ever, the S3 recently surged to the top of uSwitch Tech’s monthly Mobile Tracker.
The handset hit the number one spot on the tracker, which measures sales and search volume, despite having been on sale for just three days.
