A photo purported to show the front of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has surfaced online, ahead of its official unveiling later this month.
Sourced by GSM Arena, the image reveals a hitherto unseen handset that takes its cues from the S3. Most obviously in the shape of its pebble form factor with rounded edges and marble white colourway.
The site’s source also corroborated much of the Note 2 spec sheet chatter that has been doing the rounds in recent weeks, including the oft-rumoured 5.5-inch, 1280 x 800 pixel Super AMOLED screen.
A 1.5GHz quad-core processor of the Exynos 4 Quad variety is mentioned too, as is an eight megapixel camera – both of which also chime with earlier leaks from the Samsung supply chain.
News of what Samsung’s second tilt at a so-called phablet comes as it prepares to lift the lid on the Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA tech beano in Berlin on August 29th.
The event is also expected to see the release of the latest Jelly Bean version of Android for Samsung’s ‘other’ flagship phone for 2011, the Galaxy S3.
