Vodafone has trimmed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3, following Virgin Media’s lead from earlier this week.
Under the terms of the promo, Vodafone has waived the £89 upfront charge for subscribers who sign up to a two-year contract at £33 per month.
A half-price promo code available for customers who buy the phone online further cuts the outlay for would-be buyers, shaving the monthly contract price to £17.50 for three months.
Regarded as the most viable challenger to the iPhone 5 and by some distance the best Android smartie around, the S3’s spec sheet takes in a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, an eight-megapixel camera and a pebble shaped design.
The phone’s real USPs however are some neat Samsung tweaks to the Android operating system, such as the SmartStay intelligent sleep mode that harnesses the 1.89-megapixel front-facing camera and motion detection technology to discern whether the S3 is in use.
Perhaps the pick of these, though, is the S-Voice, erm, voice commands app that lets you check the weather, turn on your phone, open apps and even take photos by speaking instructions aloud.
