Carphone Warehouse has hailed the fourth flagship Galaxy S smartphone from Samsung as its most in-demand handset to date.
The high street retailer claims it has been inundated with interest for the Galaxy S4, describing March 15th to 18th as the ‘busiest pre-registration period ever’, with more than four times as many registrations than it received for the Galaxy S3 in May last year.
Graham Stapleton, Chief Operating Officer at Carphone Warehouse, said: “The vast number of pre-registrations we’ve had for this device is evidence how hot the Galaxy S4 is going to be.
“The Galaxy S3 launch broke records last year and was always going to be a tough one to beat, but the S4 is already proving to be a more than capable step up in the series that will inspire many people to make the switch to Android from other operating systems. This device is the one to watch for 2013.”
Samsung’s latest hero kit is set to take on Apple’s iPhone 5 with an arsenal of features, including a five-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a retina-popping 441 ppi density, a 13-megapixel camera and a 1.9GHz quad-core processor.
However, its real strengths lie in its range of software features, such as Smart Scroll that lets you scroll pages by tilting the handset and Smart Pause that pauses the video when you look away from the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 goes on pre-order later this month and is scheduled to ship to customers from April 26th.
