Samsung Galaxy Note 9 pre–orders set to go live in mid August

Pre–ordering for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will go live in mid August, with the Korean company looking to prevent Apple from gaining an advantage when it reveals its latest iPhones in September.

A new report from local media in Samsung’s home country claims that the Galaxy Note 9 will go on sale on 24th August.

Samsung is looking to avoid a repeat of last year’s Galaxy Note 8 release, which took place on 15th September, just days after Apple first unveiled the iPhone X.

It’s not clear if the Galaxy Note 9 release date is for Korea only or whether Samsung will make a concerted effort to have it available in the UK at the same time.

Recent rumours have suggested that the Galaxy Note 9 will look virtually identical to the Galaxy Note 8, but feature a faster processor and up to 512GB of internal storage. The bundled S Pen is set to come with a series of major new features too.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 9 at a special event in New York on 9th August.
