Channel 5's catch-up and on-demand service has come to the Google Chromecast streaming dongle.

That means you can stream Channel 5's programmes from your phone or tablet to your telly, using the Chromecast. Shows include 'Celebrity Big Brother', 'The Yorkshire Vet', 'Lip Sync Battle' and 'Gotham'.

The service brings programmes from Channel 5 and its network of channels, including 5Star, 5USA and Spike. It also includes My5 exclusives.

"Today's announcement builds on My5's position as the most widely distributed commercial broadcaster VOD service in the UK," said James Tatam, director of digital media and commercial development for Channel 5. "Chromecast is a fantastic device and by utilising this technology to broaden out My5's reach and availability, we're giving our viewers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to their favourite content."

Edward Kenney, head of Google's Chromecast partnerships, UK, added: "Channel 5 has built a great VOD offering, and with Google Chromecast, viewers can stream everything they love from My5 to the big screen, directly from their phone or tablet. Users will be delighted with the addition of My5 to the broad list of services already available on Chromecast."

Over the last year, Channel 5 has increased the use of its on-demand content by 25 per cent.
