Virgin Media news

Virgin Media's triple play deal offer represents the best value bundle for use by families throughout the European Union last year, it has been claimed.

The deal, which includes broadband, fixed-line phone and cable TV for £25 was cheaper and offered better value than the cheapest family-oriented deals abroad, the new international communications market report from Ofcom said.

The cheapest bundles offered by French, Italian and German ISPs stood at £27.22, £34.94 and £39.77 per month respectively.

Meanwhile, in the US, the cheapest deal is a whopping £69.54.

Ofcom's study revealed that take-up of packages is on the increase in the UK, with 40 per cent of UK households having signed for bundled deals by March this year - up from 29 per cent at the same period last year.

Last year, Carphone Warehouse, Virgin Media and Sky all launched broadband bundles.
