Broadband users should take advantage of the drop in charges experienced over the past year, one expert has advised.

Esther Shaw of the Independent has told broadband contract holders who signed up to 12 months ago to shop around for a cheaper deal.

Ms Shaw also said that those paying big money for a Pay TV subscription could also do better by putting their name to a package which offers broadband as well.

She commented: "Broadband prices have fallen dramatically in the past few years, so if you signed up to your broadband provider more than a year ago, it's likely that you could be paying over the odds.

"Many telephone and internet providers now offer several services "bundled" together at a discount price and these tend to offer the best value for money."

uSwitch recently echoed the advice of Ms Shaw, with a study revealing that households could save an average of £123 by bundling their TV, broadband and phone services.
