Visitors to Sky Broadband's website will find programmes from the BBC iPlayer's catch-up service featured on the Sky Player.

Under a new deal, sections of the Sky service will be BBC-branded, directing broadband users who click on programme links to the iPlayer site.

IPTV service Sky Player now offers both live and on demand content from a range of channels, including the BBC.

"Access to BBC content along with improvements to the user experience will further support the ongoing success of Sky Player," said BskyB's director of On-demand, Griff Parry.

Meanwhile, head of the BBC's Online Media Group, Anthony Rose, commented: "We are delighted to be able to offer access to BBC TV programmes to Sky Player users. This deal further underlines our commitment to reaching new audiences by making BBC iPlayer available on as many services as possible."

Virgin Media currently offers iPlayer content direct to subscribers' television sets via its IPTV service.
