IPTV provider IP Vision has announced a new broadband offering which is capable of streaming video-on-demand (VoD) straight to a TV.

FetchTV is an IPTV solution for Freeview+ that also provides broadband users with VoD and catch-up content, such as BBC's iPlayer service.

According to ISPreview.co.uk, the package is available without the need for any sort of subscription service.

Eddie Abrams, chief executive of IP Vision, said: "We have known for a long time that our service had the capability to deliver content that has been traditionally viewed online to a TV screen."

He added that the development of services like Project Canvas - which is the BBC-led initiative for an open broadband TV service - suggest that content delivered via broadband will become more common in the future.

Recently, internet service providers such as BT have called on content providers including YouTube and BBC to contribute to the costs of rolling out broadband infrastructure.
