In a new poll conducted by none other than the UK’s telecoms regulator Ofcom as reported this morning, almost half of the 862 participants ‘fessed that they are planning to cut down on fancy scran in the face of the credit crunch. Meanwhile, 41 per cent said that they expect to cut down on holidays.
Conversely, just 19 per cent plan to reduce their home broadband expenditure, while 10 per cent are intending to do the same for their mobile broadband outlay.
We’re not actually terribly surprised. A broadband connection is a passport to almost unlimited and often free entertainment. And at a time when for most people at least cash is too tight to mention, it’s probably the best bit of money you’ll spend all month.
