Broadband provider TalkTalk is looking for customers to take part in new free security-boosting trials.

The firm wants existing broadband clients running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 to take part.

Customers will be asked to evaluate an updated version of its F-Secure Internet security software, which TalkTalk offers as part of its Super Secure Boost add-on for only £2 per month, with the first 30 days free.

The broadband provider said: "Making sure you're surfing safely is getting more and more important. If a virus or other nasty slips onto your computer you could lose your files, photos, music - or your bank details and passwords.

"Our Super Secure Boost tops up Essentials' basic protection with award-winning security on up to three computers," it added.

Earlier this year, TalkTalk acquired broadband provider Tiscali UK, which took its national broadband network to over four million homes.
