Some Virgin Media customers in Edinburgh have had a fault with their broadband services fixed by the company.

Around 100 residents in the city were left without broadband after a hardware failure saw Virgin Media customers in four postcodes without a connection.

One customer, James Christie, told the Edinburgh Evening News the company originally informed him the problems with his broadband service may not be fixed until September 29th.

Virgin Media said his problem was unrelated to the wider fault and the broadband problems in the city have now been fixed.

A spokesman for the firm said: "[A] broadband hardware fault affecting customers in areas of Edinburgh was successfully resolved during the early hours of Tuesday morning. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Virgin Media recently had to fix an issue which affected its broadband services in Leeds.

Problems with routing issues left customers in the region missing certain parts of their broadband service on September 14th, the Register reported.
