Broadband provider SmithMedia has announced plans to bundle a free Xbox 360 with one of its broadband packages.

Anyone signing up to the firm's Broadband Gamer package, which offers speeds of up to 24Mb, for 18 months, will receive a free Xbox 360 Arcade console and one controller.

The package costs £49.99 per month and also offers upload speeds of 448Kb and a download allowance of 500GB.

Speaking to ISPReview, SmithMedia boss Clive Smith, said: "Coupling our Gamer Broadband package with a free Xbox 360 gives any client the chance to experience the online multiplayer gaming sensation with stable and reliable service."

He added that the firm's 24/7 support service means that gamers can relax and enjoy playing online without the worry of poor internet connectivity.

Earlier this week, it was reported by Bloomberg that Microsoft is considering launching an Xbox Live TV channel.
