Leading UK broadband provider TalkTalk has been praised for the contribution it is making to the Race Online 2012 campaign.
UK Digital Champion Martha Lane Fox told the firm's blog that its dedication and commitment to helping achieve a fully networked nation has been "amazing".
She described TalkTalk as "a core, first-wave partner" in Race Online 2012 - an initiative designed to extend broadband services to the ten million UK citizens who have never been online.
Ms Lane Fox explained that TalkTalk is aiming to encourage 100,000 new users on to the internet over the next two years, through a variety of customer facing initiatives.
This would represent a "staggering" number of new converts, she added.
"We are asking as many companies as possible to sign-up to be Race Online 2012 partners and create a digital promise that helps educate, train or inspire people to get online," Ms Lane Fox said.
"From encouraging business partners to sign up, to teaching friends and family to get online, or by donating old IT equipment locally – there are opportunities for all businesses to make a difference."
