Consumers signing up for Zen Internet's broadband deals are set to benefit from enhanced download speeds.

The Rochdale-based internet service provider (ISP) is launching fibre-optic broadband in September, offering up to 40Mb web services to its subscribers.

All Zen broadband packages will offer minimum speeds of 15Mb, with upload options of up to 2Mb and up to 10Mb available.

"We are in the process of developing these new services which use fibre-optic cabling for part of the network to deliver faster broadband to homes and businesses," the firm stated.

"It is important to us that we develop these new services in line with our mission to provide the best ISP service in the UK."

Last week, the broadband provider announced that usage limits on its Zen Lite, Active, Pro and Office packages were being doubled.
