Homes and businesses in remote areas of North Wales look set to benefit from a new broadband project geared at improving web services in the region.
Wireless broadband provider AB Internet is investing £450,000 to provide fast, wireless internet services via the FibreSpeed network, in a move which could benefit thousands of local residents.
The work is set to commence immediately, meaning households and business premises in not-spots could have access to 4Mb wireless broadband in time for Christmas.
Darren Round, AB Internet's Managing Director, said the firm was "really excited" about its new service in North Wales and to be working with FibreSpeed.
"They had the foresight to accommodate our requirement and the drive to help deliver it," he explained.
"The deployment of our wireless services throughout the region will be nothing short of transformational for the population of North Wales, especially for those currently blighted by not-spots."
Graham Leach, FibreSpeed's General Manager, noted that the initiative would help put North Wales on an equal footing with many other better-connected parts of the UK.
