Eclipse Internet is continuing to offer faster broadband speeds to consumers, boosting customer satisfaction rates, it has been claimed.
Clodagh Murphy, Director of the broadband provider, said the firm is committed to boosting service levels and ensuring its broadband deals perform to the highest possible levels.
She was speaking after the Exeter-based internet service provider overtook the average 5.258Mb downloads achieved by rival O2 to be named as the second fastest internet service provider in the UK.
Eclipse Internet is now reported to offer mean download speeds of 5.528Mb, sufficient to support a range of advanced web services.
Ms Murphy commented: "We are really pleased to see these latest statistics as we have steadily been moving up the ranking tables – last June we were 8th."
She said it was "positive news" for Eclipse customers that only Virgin Media – which offers limited cable coverage across the UK – can boast faster average download speeds.
Back in October 2010, the monthly usage allowance was doubled to 100GB for Eclipse customers using the internet during peak hours, further boosting then appeal of the firm's offering.
