Broadband provider Sky has launched a special new online app to coincide with its latest satellite TV promotion.

The broadcaster is allowing all Freeview TV viewers to sample its top-rated shows on Sky 3 this weekend, providing free access to content between February 11th and 13th.

Episodes of Sky favourites including Boardwalk Empire, Got to Dance, Cougar Town and An Idiot Abroad will be aired for the benefit of non-satellite customers.

And to support the Sky Free Weekend, the internet service provider has developed the new Sky TV Matchmaker app.

The online tool uses consumers' Facebook profiles to suggest relevant content from the weekend's schedule, tailored to their individual hobbies and interests.

Broadband deal subscribers can take advantage of the app by visiting www.facebook.com/sky.

Sky is also be working on a larger app which will promote TV content to users from across its range of subscription channels.
