Reports suggest that the iPad 2 has a new, high profile convert – HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
According to the Sun, the 85-year-old monarch has been introduced to the Apple tablet by her grandsons Prince William and Prince Harry.
Following a hands-on demonstration, the Queen is believed to have asked staff to obtain an iPad 2 for her own use while on official trips.
A Buckingham Palace insider said the Queen was no stranger to modern tech devices, and was highly impressed by the functionality of the tablet.
"For a woman of her age, she is very switched on," they stated.
"It was only a matter of time before she asked someone to go and get her [an iPad 2]."
The Queen is already reported to own two iPods and a mobile phone, and could soon be using mobile broadband services on a tablet computer.
Several internet service providers offer 3G broadband deals with the Apple iPad 2, including 3 and Orange.
