Internet service provider (ISP) Timico UK has expanded its operations by acquiring rival broadband firm Powernet.
Timico has paid an undisclosed sum for the Buckinghamshire ISP, and will assume control of its three UK centres, based in Milton Keynes, London and Manchester.
Tim Radford, Chairman of the Timico Technology Group, said the acquisition of Powernet was "a perfect opportunity" for the ISP.
"It gives us further scale to meet the growing need for fully managed IT and communications solutions, whether they be Private Wide Area Networks or hosted data centre solutions," he stated.
"With its impressive focus on research and development and its investment in a similar infrastructure to our own, we share the same kind of commitment to providing our customers with leading edge technology solutions and fantastic service."
Tony Tugulu, Chief Executive Officer at Powernet, said his firm was partnering with "like-minded industry experts" who share a similar end goal.
He claimed that Powernet customers will be able to benefit from an improved customer service experience as a result of the deal.
