The business division of broadband provider TalkTalk is continuing to rollout Ethernet technology across the UK, it has been reported.

According to ISPreview.co.uk, TalkTalk Business has created more than 1,900 new Ethernet and Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) supporting super-fast broadband exchanges in the last 12 months.

The firm revealed that more than 2,000 telephone exchanges now support its next-generation network, and are prepared for super-fast broadband.

And 700 more exchanges are scheduled to be upgraded using the copper EFM solution over the next two years, TalkTalk Business added.

Paul Lawton, Managing Director of the broadband provider, said the network rollout "is a major shot in the arm" for thousands of companies which regard business grade broadband connectivity as "the lifeblood of their business".

"Time is of the essence for companies which rely on business grade broadband connectivity for performance, productivity and growth," he told the news provider.

Mr Lawton said that a fast and efficient broadband service remains pivotal to helping companies stay competitive.
