Three customers are now able to get their hands on a new, high-speed mobile Wi-Fi (Mi-Fi) device with their mobile broadband deals.

The Huawei E586 is the first Mi-Fi device to feature next generation HSPA+ mobile broadband technology in the UK.

It will allow mobile Wi-Fi users to access broadband speeds of up to 21Mb – 40 per cent higher than those previously accessible with a Three Mi-Fi device.

Three is in the process of rolling out HSPA+ technology across its network, bringing the benefits of high-speed mobile broadband to customers across the UK.

The Huawei E586 offers fast, secure Wi-Fi for iPads, laptops and handheld games consoles at the touch of a button.

An OLED screen informs users about the amount of data they have used, the speed of the current connection and the length of browsing time.

In addition, a new look dashboard for viewing SMS and changing settings is included with the device.

Users can also see their Wi-Fi user name and password on screen at the touch of a button for fast pairing with new gadgets.

David Kerrigan, Head of Mobile Broadband at Three, said that as the UK's biggest 3G mobile broadband network, the firm is delighted to introduce high-speed mobile Wi-Fi.

"This joins our award-winning HSPA+ dongles making us the only operator offering an entirely next generation HSPA+ enabled range of mobile broadband products," he stated.

"Aside from this step up in speed, the new cradle charger, which looks great, will help people get the best performance in the home."

The Huawei E586 has an Internal Memory slot for a micro SD card that supports up to 32GB, and offers approximately 4.5 hours of battery life.
