Virgin Media extended its customer base during the final quarter of 2011, with 17,500 net additions.
At the end of December, the cable broadband provider had a total of 4,351,100 UK subscribers, up from 4,333,600 at the end of September.
Many of the new customers are likely to have signed up for the firm's fibre broadband deals, with ultra-fast services being rolled out across the UK.
Virgin Media announced this week that ten million UK homes can now access 100Mb fibre broadband packages on the firm's network.
"In a fast-changing industry and an uncertain economic environment, our 2011 results demonstrate the underlying resilience of Virgin Media's business model," said Neil Berkett, Chief Executive at Virgin Media.
"Demand for better broadband continues to grow fast, with around half of new customers choosing super-fast speeds."
He said the combination of the best TV experience and the best broadband has enabled the company to acquire more new customers.
