Service provider and hosting reseller ICUK has become the latest to offer a range of upgraded broadband deals.

The firm is now offering 80Mb broadband packages to UK homes and businesses via fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) connections.

Previously, ICUK offered up to 40Mb broadband speeds via FTTC, but the firm has doubled the download speeds available to users.

According to ISPreview.co.uk, around two-fifths of UK homes and businesses can currently sign up for FTTC broadband services.

And with BT Openreach continuing to extend its fibre footprint, the proportion with access to super-fast broadband services is continuing to rise.

ICUK said the footprint for FTTC broadband "is increasing every week".

"Customers fortunate to have access to this product should consider adopting it to benefit from the high speeds," he stated.
