Virgin Media broadband customers will qualify for exclusive discounts when the Samsung Galaxy S3 launches later this year.

Subscribers are set to gain access to the smartphone later this summer, but they will not be required to pay full price.

Virgin Media customers are to benefit from "a range of exclusives" - adding to the appeal of the handset when it goes on sale in the UK.

For example, subscribers could receive a £5 discount on their monthly tariff, or receive double the texts, double the data and more minutes than other Virgin Mobile deals.

Meanwhile, Samsung and Visa have announced that the Galaxy S3 will be the official phone for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

DJ Lee, Executive Vice-President and Head of the Sales and Marketing team in Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, said the handset has been created with human needs and capabilities in mind.

"It is the ideal device to showcase the ease and convenience of Visa’s mobile payment application at the London 2012 Olympic Games,” he stated.
