TalkTalk is launching a new mobile service - in a move which paves the way for quad play broadband deals.
The firm has an established broadband and home phone customer base, with 4,047,000 paying UK customers at the end of June 2012.
TalkTalk has also started offering free YouView set-top boxes to its Plus package subscribers, enabling customers to take advantage of broadband TV services.
And with the launch of TalkTalk Mobile, the firm may soon be offering broadband, home phone, TV and mobile bundles to the UK market.
Initially, TalkTalk customers will be able to access mobile-only plans from £5 per month, supported by Vodafone's UK network.
They will have a choice of three separate plans - Small, Medium, and Large - which are available on 24-month contracts.
Trista Clarke, TalkTalk’s commercial director, commented: "If you look at phone and broadband packages, they’re cheaper now than they were five years ago.
"TalkTalk led the way in bringing better value to the market and we’re doing it again with our mobile offers, saving customers even more."
She said the firm wants to do in mobile what it did in broadband, by bringing greater competition and choice to the market.
This should help provide customers with the best possible value, Ms Clarke claimed.
