The importance of having access to a broadband connection is greater than ever, according to one industry expert.
Tristia Clarke, Commercial Director at TalkTalk, claimed that using the internet is "hugely rewarding", more so as the role of online services in society continues to rise.
Writing for the TalkTalk blog, she argued that being online is increasingly important for those looking for work, with benefits claimants soon having to manage their claims online.
In addition, the internet can be used for shopping, communication, filing tax returns and a range of other public services.
"TalkTalk has long argued that the internet should be accessible for everybody, and promises to always offer the best value broadband, phone, TV and mobile," Ms Clarke stated.
She claimed that the firm has changed the market for broadband and fixed-line phone services forever, by offering cheaper prices than consumers have ever seen before.
