A new study has found EE to be the fastest mobile broadband provider in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Independent consumer advocate RootMetrics conducted more than 27,000 mobile performance tests in the city, comparing the mobile networks of EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three.
EE achieved average download speeds, combining both 3G and 4G, of 14.4Mb and average upload speeds of 9.4Mb in Newcastle.
The download speeds achieved by EE were almost 8Mb faster than any other operator - unsurprising since the firm is still the only UK operator to offer 4G mobile broadband services.
EE first rolled out 4G services in Newcastle in December 2012, enabling dongle and tablet users to improve their mobile broadband experience.
The firm said 4G has enabled local residents and businesses to access the web on-the-go in an instant, download large email attachments quicker than ever, hold video calls, watch live TV on the move without buffering, and play live multi-player games.
