Sprint legend Usain Bolt has returned to the UK to star in another Virgin Media advertising campaign, with the strapline ‘Challenge Your Broadband’.
The two-time Olympic 100m and 200m champion features in new TV ads alongside Virgin Media founder Sir Richard Branson, in a bid to demonstrate the benefits of super-fast connectivity.
In the latest campaign, Virgin Media invites Brits to "put their broadband to the test".
The first advert sees Bolt, representing Virgin Media’s super-fast fibre-optic service, go head-to-head with Blot, a slow and inefficient challenger who flies the flag for DSL broadband.
There is only ever going to be one winner in the race, with Bolt leaving his opponent trailing in his wake.
In another 30-second ad, Bolt and Blot attempt to powerlift a bar weighted by the number of people using Virgin Media broadband to get online.
Bolt - powered by fibre broadband - manages the task easily, however DSL-backed Blot struggles once again.
Richard Larcombe, Director of Advertising and Sponsorship at Virgin Media, said the new ad campaign champions the firm's "outstanding" fibre broadband services.
"We believe everyone should get the super-fast speeds they expect - like our customers do - so you can stream TV, download music, browse online and game to your heart’s content," he stated.
"This campaign takes a humorous look at the strength of Virgin Media’s fibre-optic service but goes a step further by inviting people to put their own broadband to the test and see the benefits of Virgin Media broadband for themselves.”
