Vodafone has connected more than 100,000 UK consumers to 4G mobile services since its next-generation network was launched in August 2013.

The service provider currently offers 4G in over 80 towns and districts in and around London, with super-fast mobile broadband also available in Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield.

And the firm's network is to be further extended, with 4G arriving in Liverpool on October 17th and Glasgow on October 24th.

Manchester, Bradford, Edinburgh, Leeds and Newcastle are set to follow before the end of 2013, Vodafone says.

Guy Laurence, Chief Executive at Vodafone UK, said the broadband provider is "giving people a reason to get excited about ultra-fast 4G".

"More than 100,000 have already joined in," he noted.

"We’ve been switching on a new site in the London area every half-hour and now people in more than 80 towns and districts can enjoy Vodafone ultra-fast 4G."
