TV viewers with a NOW TV Box and home Wi-Fi connection can now access an even wider range of content, following the launch of 4oD on the platform.

Channel 4's catch-up service is now available to consumers who have bought a NOW TV Box to turn their television into a smart TV.

Available for just £9.99 including postage and packaging, the device allows viewers to access NOW TV - which offers Sky content - via their main TV.

The launch of 4oD means consumers can access more than 3,000 hours of Channel 4 programming via their wireless broadband connection at no extra cost.

Viewers can watch the likes of 'Made In Chelsea', 'Homeland' and 'Peep Show' on-demand, and also access classic box sets such as 'Father Ted' and 'Black Books'.

NOW TV already offered BBC iPlayer and Demand 5, but consumers now have an even wider range of on-demand viewing options.

Gidon Katz, Director of NOW TV, said the NOW TV Box provides millions of people with the opportunity "to transform their regular TV into a smart TV for less than a tenner".

"There is now even more to watch. The launch of 4oD means the NOW TV Box delivers an even bigger choice of on-demand TV," he stated.

"It’s available alongside flexible pay-as-you-go access to must-see sport, the latest movies you missed at the cinema and the TV shows everyone’s talking about."

Mr Katz claimed the Wi-Fi device offers convenient, contract-free access to "outstanding content", which is why NOW TV Boxes "have been flying off the shelves".

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, Director of Commercial and Business Development at Channel 4, said the broadcaster is always looking for new ways to offer its content to viewers.

"Bringing 4oD on the NOW TV Box represents the latest device launch in a busy year for Channel 4 that has seen us extend our content reach to many new platforms," he stated.

NOW TV Box owners with a Wi-Fi broadband connection have a number of subscription options, allowing them to access premium Sky content over the platform.

These include the Sky Sports Day Pass - which offers 24-hour access for £9.99 - the Sky Movies Month Pass - which is priced at £8.99 - and the Entertainment Month Pass.

The latter option allows viewers to stream channels including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Fox, MTV, Discovery and Comedy Central from £4.99 per month.
