Virgin Media Business news

Virgin Media Business has launched a new range of broadband deals aimed at UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The firm says its packages are geared towards new companies starting out, as well as growing, emerging and maturing businesses.

It hopes the new packages will reduce complexity for SME owners and make it simpler for them to access the connectivity solutions they need.

The entry-level package is Red Value, which is targeted at 'digitally aware' SMEs.

Subscribers can take advantage of up to 50Mb download speeds with an unlimited usage allowance and inclusive anytime calls.

The deal - which is available from £50 per month, with two months free - also includes a free Super Hub router, a static IP on request and 24-hour UK support.

Virgin Media Business says the Red Speed package - which offers up to 152Mb download speeds - is designed for 'digitally enabled' firms.

It is priced at £60 per month, with SMEs receiving the first two months free.

The top-tier SME package is Red Performance, which provides a 30Mb to 100Mb connection with the same download and upload speeds.

Subscribers benefit from a six-hour Service Level Agreement - helping to ensure continued uptime - and free installation.

This package - which is aimed at 'digitally dependant' SMEs - is available from £500 per month.

Virgin Media Business Director Mike Smith said SMEs should be the fuel of the UK economy, powered by simple, flexible technology.

"We are launching new packages for SMEs that are simple, clear and provide much-needed flexibility as businesses grow," he stated.

"Not only that, we can now offer one of the fastest available broadband packages for businesses with Red Speed."

Mr Smith claimed that, with simpler products, better skills and backing from the top, the UK's businesses will grow faster.

He added that this "can only be good for the whole economy".
