Television and film streaming service Blinkbox has been renamed the TalkTalk TV Store, following a £30 million takeover by the broadband provider.

As of 12 months ago, Blinkbox had around one million active users while TalkTalk had around 1.2 million pay TV customers.

Although Blinkbox was sold by Tesco to TalkTalk last year, it has only now decided to take on the name, adding that the name will be the only thing to change.

Users will still have access to the same digital libraries and the Blinkbox URL will remain active but will be "updated soon".

The move to rebrand the service has been in the pipeline since it the acquisition was confirmed last year, with TalkTalk Managing Director Tristia Harrison telling Marketing Magazine at the time: "There will be a rebrand in due course, a rebrand of Blinkbox to TalkTalk, with the name, the branding to be determined and decided."
