Vodafone's broadband service attracted an extra 14,000 customers in the final quarter of 2015.

This means its overall broadband customer base stood at 89,000 by the end of the year, while revenues from its fixed business rose to £333 million.

Meanwhile, Vodafone continued to see good growth in its 4G base, with customer numbers rising from 5.3 million in Q2 to 6.3 million in Q4.

Vittorio Colao, Chief Executive of Vodafone, commented: "We have taken another step forward in the last three months.

"Customers are increasingly recognising the quality of our networks, leading to strong growth in data usage and benefiting from the significant investments in 4G and fibre that we have made over the last two years."

Mr Colao added that while Vodafone continues to face regulatory and competitive challenges in many markets, it is confident the business is in a good position to take advantage of upcoming growth opportunities.
