Sky has unveiled plans to streamline its presence on high streets across the UK.
About 60 stores - 23 per cent of its nationwide high street presence - have been earmarked for closure, for various reasons.
Some of the stores under threat are those that are not deemed profitable, while others are to be closed because they are located extremely close to other stores.
A spokesman for Sky commented: "As we expand our products and services, we want to make sure that our retail stores are in the right place for customers and making the right contribution to our business."
The company insisted that it will continue to have a "strong retail presence" across the UK following the closures.
This comes shortly after Sky revealed that its revenues went up by five per cent in the UK and Ireland during the three months to September 2016, fuelled by rising customer demand for its products and services.
