Vodafone has revealed a further increase in its number of fixed line broadband customers.

The figure rose by 30,000 between July and September to 167,000.

This is particularly good news for Vodafone, as it beats the 28,000 upturn recorded in the previous quarter.

Vittorio Colao, Chief Executive of Vodafone Group, commented: "As Europe’s fastest-growing broadband operator, we are driving rapid uptake of our consumer fixed and TV services.

"Overall, we expect to sustain our underlying performance in the second half of the year and remain on track to meet our full-year objectives despite macroeconomic uncertainties."

Vodafone has also sought to strengthen its proposition by signing up to Ofcom's voluntary code of practice on publicising broadband speeds and making it easier for customers to exit contracts.

Commercial Director at Vodafone UK Glafkos Persianis said this will give customers greater transparency on home broadband speeds and prevent them from being misled.
